I'm back with the single Merci chocolate holder I mentioned last post - how cute is it?
This little treat holder is really economical to make, you can get 4 boxes from 1 A4 sheet of cardstock!
You can get 12 of the dsp belly-bands from a 12x12 sheet of dsp!
They are so quick and easy to make, that you can have a whole bunch made and ready to hand out in no time!
To make this treat holder, you will need:
cardstock 11cm x 9.5cms
dsp 9cm x 7.5cm
scrap of whisper white for the sentiment
Place your cardstock with the long side to the top, in your scoring tool or trimmer. Score at 1.5cms from either end.
Turn your cardstock, and with the short side to the top, score at 2cms and 3.5cms from either side. Using a ruler and your bone folder, score the small diagonal lines (see sample) on the small boxes on either side of the middle box you have created with your score lines -
Fold and burnish all score lines really well, using your bone folder.
Add your Merci chocolate, fold in on the diagonal score lines, and fold the box up with one set of sides inside the other.
If your box doesn't stay closed when folded, unfold, and refold with the other sides on the inside.
And that's your box done!
Now to decorate:
To wrap the dsp belly-band around the box, start at the bottom - don't adhere as you need to slide it off to get to your treat - and pinch into shape as you go. When you have wrapped the whole box, attach the two sides of the dsp with double-sided tape, fast fuse or tombow liquid glue. Check your band slides off, then stamp your sentiment and adhere using dimensionals.
So cute! I love making these little boxes!
Let me know if I have confused you with my directions :)
Thanks for stopping by!
